Tommie Jo Marsilio lives in her hometown of Garrettsville. She is active with community organizations including leading her daughter’s Girl Scout Troop, the Chamber of Commerce, and various projects to assist the local school district. Tommie Jo also serves on the Board of Directors for Portage County Habitat for Humanity and volunteers as a consultant for a pro-life group.
Tommie Jo is a small business owner of her own law practice. She currently practices law and serves as an advisor to small businesses on how to cut government red tape and avoid unnecessary costs of legal problems.
Prior to opening this office, she
served as an Industrial Commission Hearing
Officer, a Portage County Assistant
Prosecutor, corporate national counsel in a complex litigation law firm, and an
associate with a law firm representing public schools and municipalities.
Tommie Jo has also served the Ohio Department of Development in Economic
Outreach, Growth Partnership for Ashtabula County, and a civilian position with
the U.S. Army JAG Corps. at Fort Knox. Her unique combination of public,
private and not-for-profit service makes for a candidate who understands
government and private sector business. Having worked in both
environments, she can bring private industry standards of accountability to
government.
When she is not working for her clients or community, Tommie Jo enjoys traveling with family. She also enjoys perennial gardening. She attends Parkside Church in Bainbridge, Ohio.
